AliveCor’s Credit-Card-Sized ECG Earns FDA Nod

AliveCor launched KardiaMobile Card, a personal electrocardiogram (ECG) device the size of a standard credit card. Able to fit in a wallet, it provides a medical-grade, single-lead ECG in 30 seconds.
 
According to the company, it is the world’s first credit-card-sized ECG that the FDA has cleared.

With the ability to pair with a smartphone via Bluetooth, KardiaMobile Card can spot six of the most common abnormal heart rhythms. Users can access to cardiologists’ analysis of the ECGs, monthly reports of heart health, and can automatically share ECG recordings. The device was designed to resist weather, water, and wear and tell as well.

The technology also grants users one year of access to KardiaCare heart health services, including cardiologist ECG evaluations, monthly reports to summarize ECG and blood pressure data, automatic sharing, and capability to spot a wider range of heart conditions.
